James McLeary is an associate managing director in the Cyber Risk practice of Kroll in Hong  Kong. He has extensive international experience in Asia Pacific, in global risk governance, risk management, IT strategy and leadership, cyber threat incident response and IT security. He is a modern CISO with a strong risk and technical background, who has exemplary crisis management skills and cyber response capabilities. In his new role, James will lead Kroll’s Virtual CISO (vCISO) engagements in Asia Pacific by establishing technology risk frameworks and governance and boosting cyber security maturity across organizations. Before joining Kroll, James worked at TMB Bank in Bangkok as Group Head of Information Security Office and EVP previous experience includes those at Siam Commercial Bank, Credit Suisse, Morgan Stanley, HSBC, Barclays Wealth Management, GE and Mitel Telecom.

Head of Cyber Security Strategy & Governance, University of New South Wales

Nivedita Newar is Head of Cyber Security Strategy & Governance at University of New South Wales. She is responsible for the development, delivery and oversight of enterprise-wide cybersecurity policies, risk management, enterprise security architecture, controls assurance, security awareness, compliance, and strategy. She is in a senior leadership position and directly reports to the CISO. She has previously worked at Vodafone for 4 years as an Enterprise Security Strategy & Architecture Lead where she helped in developing, implementing, and monitoring a strategic, comprehensive enterprise cyber security management program. Nivi’s educational qualifications include Engineering in Electronics & Telecommunication and MBA in IT (Specialising in Networking, Infrastructure & Security). She has been a continuous learning enthusiast and her industry certifications CISSP, SABSA, CRISC, CISM, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor, AWS-Cloud Practitioner, CCSK, TOGAF and ITIL.
