2028 Toyota Celica Sport
It appears as though Toyota is in the process of resurrecting the Celica sports coupe, after this nameplate sat unused for decades. Rumors are swirling about the reborn two-door, and the company has even confirmed that it will wear the name Celica Sport.
An all-wheel-drive hybrid powertrain is expected, and the gasoline part of the equation is expected to be a new 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder. Horsepower could be as high as 400 ponies, which would give the small, lightweight Celica a big advantage over its likely rival: the 200-hp Honda Prelude hybrid.
Expert Tip: We aren't sure yet if the Celica Sport will replace the GR86 sports car in Toyota's lineup or be offered alongside it, but if you are eyeballing the 86 for your next new car purchase, maybe wait to pull the trigger until we learn more about the Celica.
